Biography

Dr. Sumanto Mukhopadhyay is a distinguished cardiologist specializing in structural heart and complex coronary interventions.

With over 15 years of experience, he is renowned for his expertise in transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI/TAVR) and mitral/tricuspid edge-to-edge repair procedures (MitraClip/Triclip/ Stroke Pascal).

Dr. Sumanto has performed over 2000 TAVI/TAVR procedures and 500 MitraClip/Triclip/Pascal procedures, along with various percutaneous valve implantations and treatments for adult congenital heart diseases.

He is recognized internationally for his contributions to the field, having served as a consultant at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London, one of the UK’s premier cardiac centers. Dr. Sumanto has been invited to proctor procedures and teach at prestigious centers in the UK and India, including Royal Brompton & Harefield, Liverpool, and Dublin.

Furthermore, he is actively involved in research and is an international investigator for innovative trials and devices such as ENCIRCLE, COLIBRI, and EXPAND. Dr. Sumanto’s vision is to establish a state-of-the-art structural heart intervention program in India, utilizing cutting-edge technology to ensure the best possible patient care.
